What is Reiki?Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) translates to Universal Life Force energy. It is also called Chi, Prana and Manna in other countries. Reiki is one of the more widely known forms of energy work involving the direct application of Chi for the purpose of strengthening the client’s energy system. It is an effective method of natural healing and maintaining well being. It is not a religion or belief system. Reiki offers endless possibilities and incredible potential for growth How is Reiki Given?A Reiki session is peaceful, gentle and relaxing. It can do no harm and can be used alongside medical treatment and other therapies. The client may be sat up or lying down; there is no massage involved and the client remains fully clothed. The process involves placing hands on or near the body and the directing of Reiki to specific areas, or Chakra points. It can also be applied to specific areas of need, for example, a painful knee or shoulder or an area where pain or discomfort is being experienced like headaches, stomach ache or back ache.
